Recent activities in which the club members have participated include:
George Nakashima Workshop Tour: On Oct. 8th thirty NJWA members went on a tour of the George Nakashima Workshop and Studio. The tour was conducted by the daughter and grandson of Mr. Nakashima and included a tour of their extensive collection of natural edged slabs.
Sacco and Birnbaum Workshop Visit: In March of this year the club visited the Sacco and Birnbaum workshop in East Orange. Danny Birnbaum gave a tour of his workshop and explained their approach for designing and building chairs.
The Woodworking Shows: In February of 2016 approximately 15 NJWA members took turns manning a table at the Woodworking Shows‘ annual event in Somerset. At that event we spoke with dozens of show attendees. Based on our outreach at the show, we added 15 to new members to the club.
